Rosa Delgado Hernández#

In loving memory

Rosa Delgado Hernández, 89, of San Antonio, joined her heavenly family on October 20, 2026, with her rosary in her hands — as she had it every night for as long as anyone can remember.

Rosa came to Texas from Monterrey in 1958 with two suitcases and a recipe book. The recipes fed five children, twelve grandchildren, and every wedding, baptism, and quinceañera on the west side for fifty years. Her tamales were famous at St. Jude’s bazaar, and the line for them was longer than the line for anything else, which she pretended not to be proud of.

She was preceded in death by her husband, José, and her daughter Marisela. She leaves her children Guadalupe, Enrique, Teresa, and Ana; her twelve grandchildren; her twenty-three great-grandchildren; and a church family who prayed with her every Sunday for sixty years.

La familia agradece sus oraciones.

Padre Miguel, St. Jude Rosa prayed for this parish for sixty years, and half those prayers, I am certain, were answered because she refused to stop. Descanse en paz.
Guadalupe Mamá, tus tamales, tus rosarios, tus manos. Nada en esta casa funcionará igual sin ti. Te amamos para siempre.
